Smoke is mysterious, fire is uncertain, and pit men are expensive. So the mystery, uncertainty, and expense of taking the chance to make great barbecue is being replaced by the quantifiable methods of always making pretty good 'cue.

crosen's Review of Doziers Grocery

Joint:
  • Atmosphere: Its a grocery meat market/BBQ joint. Caters to the to-go crowd. Awards on walls helps to remind you they actually smoke the Q here.
  • Brisket: Tough, lots of cartilage, moist, not much flavor
  • Spare Rib: Chewy, burnt smoke taste, wierl red paprika rub. Not good.
  • Sausage: Nice smoky flavor, mild, nice casing.
  • Sauce: Runny, tangy sauce
  • Potato Salad: Standard mayo salad.
  • Coleslaw: Ass.
  • Beans: Mushy, bland, chili beans.
  • Overall: Good if you had to make a quick stop, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it.
