dbarrow's Review of Blalock Bar-B-Que

  • Atmosphere: The ribs totally destroyed my impression of this joint. They totally screwed up a good piece of meat.
  • Sauce: Pretty standard, but the Pittsburgh hot sauce rocks.
  • Brisket: Good texture, nice and moist, but where’s the smoke flavor?
  • Sides: Beans are soft, not bad. Tater salad is fair.
  • Mystery Meat: Arrggggghhhhh!!!
  • Spare Rib: Something wrong here. There are flavors coming through this meat that just shouldn’t!!!
  • Atmosphere: Old wood building painted like Christmas (green and red). Dead animals hanging from the walls, lots of deer, pheasant, bobcat, marlin, bass and a rattlesnake skin. What’s with the 2 beehives though?
