I don't like food that's too carefully arranged; it makes me think that the chef is spending too much time arranging and not enough time cooking. If I wanted a picture I'd buy a painting.

MAIN FARE:Riverport Counter

  • Spare Rib: Falls off the bone; the bark is just about the right thickness/textrure; sweet rub; Good Rib!
  • Sausage: Sausage is good. Spicy, loose packed; Nice meaty flavor.
  • Brisket: Stand-up style brisket; very firm; Hmmmmm ... not too impressed today.
  • Pork Loin: Very nice! Good texture, full flavor, and moist. I like it!
  • Ham: Ham is good... but its ham.Riverport Crew


  • Sides are fairly standard, but good.


  • Small town; corner building on the main drag; Like!
  • Nice informal atmosphereRiverport Pit
  • Long wooden bar inside looks sorta out of place; not utilized.
  • They use a mix of hickory and oak to smoke their meats
