tguerrero's Review of Drexlers Bar-B-Que
Tour:
Joint:
- Sauce: Served hot in pitchers, thin, has some zing to it--cinammon, perhaps?
- Atmosphere: Ahhh--Houston's 5th Ward--right across the street from 'Midtown Wheels,' and replete with a coin-operated coke machine in the restaurant. BBQ joints get no better, particularly when one factors in the inclusion of Louisana La Roux: 'Love Abductor' on the jukebox!
- Spare Rib: Still pink, chewy. Good smoky crust, not too
greasy. - Potato Salad: Too dry. Nah!
- Hot Link: Homemade. Coarse grind, falling
apart. Chewy casing. Spicy (paprika?) Best thing on
menu. I ate WAY too much for the first stop o' the
day! - Beans: Ranch Style - Nothing special
- Brisket: Brisket: Lean, tender, lightly seasoned. Darn good!
