Legends of Texas Barbecue

ssweeney's Review of Salt Lick - Bergstrom

MAIN FARE:

  • The brisket is extremely tender, with very little fat
  • The brisket is soft and lean, and has an almost velvety texture
  • Sausage is not too hot, but with a good blend of spices. However it is a little too salty.

OTHER FARE:

  • The sauce is a light brown color, and has subtle tones of cumin

ATMOSPHERE:

  • Hard to rate barbecue atmosphere in an airport food stand, but this airport has a definite Austin "vibe"
  • The Salt Lick is situated right next to Amy's Ice Cream
  • Live music playing

WINNER:

  • Best Airport Barbecue 1999
